Teach the Cookie Monster Rule: subject pronouns do the eating, object pronouns get eaten. I ate the cookie vs. Mom gave the cookie to me. Have students substitute I/he/she vs. me/him/her and hear which sounds right.

Common Mistakes
- Using subject pronoun in object position: Give it to I instead of Give it to me
- Mixing him and her when gender is not marked in the sentence
- Using they instead of them in object position
