Teaching Notes

This is a consolidation worksheet — do not introduce new concepts. Use it after completing the three individual collections. Encourage students to name the type of pronoun they chose (subject/object/possessive) as a self-check.

Vocabulary
Subject Pronoun: Used as the subject of a verb.
Object Pronoun: Used as the object of a verb or preposition.
Possessive Pronoun: Shows ownership (mine, yours, his).
Common Mistakes
  • Choosing by sound alone without thinking about pronoun type
  • Picking the possessive determiner (her) when the possessive pronoun (hers) stands alone
  • Confusing it/its/it's in the three-option format
Differentiation
SupportAllow the use of a personal pronoun chart during the activity.
ChallengeAfter completing, sort all 8 answers into the three pronoun-type columns.
Discussion Questions
  • How do you decide which pronoun type a sentence needs?
  • What question do you ask yourself before choosing?
Extension Activities
  • Write a paragraph using at least one of each pronoun type.
  • Error swap: each student writes a sentence with a wrong pronoun; partner finds and fixes it.
Parent Tip

Ask your child to identify who or what is doing something in sentences.
