Adult guideTips, a sample plan and a quick review checklist
Use the supplied results. This is a paper scorekeeper mission. Children compare three events, award 3/2/1 points, make a bar chart, then score a final event and fill a winnersβ podium.
Page 1: Sharks win the relay (64 seconds is quickest); Foxes win the target toss (10 hits); Owls win the long jump (125 cm). First-to-second gaps: relay 68 β 64 = 4 seconds; target toss 10 β 8 = 2 hits; long jump 125 β 115 = 10 cm.
Page 2: Sharks earn relay 3, toss 1, jump 2 = 6. Foxes earn 1 + 3 + 1 = 5. Owls earn 2 + 2 + 3 = 7. Bar lengths are 6, 5, and 7. Owls are the first winner.
Page 3: Obstacle-course order is Sharks first (48 seconds, 3 points), Foxes second (50 seconds, 2 points), Owls third (54 seconds, 1 point). Final totals: Sharks 6 + 3 = 9; Foxes 5 + 2 = 7; Owls 7 + 1 = 8. The podium is Sharks, Owls, Foxes. Ribbons: 3 Γ 8 = 24 for teams; 24 + 4 = 28 including the helpers; 100 β 28 = 72 left. Relay timing: 64 + 72 + 68 = 204 seconds = 3 minutes 24 seconds; two 5-minute breaks add 10 minutes, so the time from first start to last finish is 13 minutes 24 seconds.
